When you think of Rajasthani cuisine, Dal Bati Churma is what comes to mind to most people. But there is more to Rajasthani cuisine than the ubiquitous Dal Bati Churma. The capital city of Rajasthan – Jaipur has a number of great places to sample Rajasthani cuisine.  Here are some of the best places to eat in Jaipur. Make sure, you pay a visit to these well known and not so known places to eat in Jaipur on your next trip to the Pink City.

Ganesh Restaurant, Nehru Bazaar, Old City:  This is the place to enjoy the Rajasthani cuisine. This restaurant is popular both for its location and the kind of food it serves. It is a great place to enjoy the local cuisine. It is little tricky to find this local eatery in Jaipur. It is close to New Gate. You’ll find a hidden stairway between two tailors.

Lassiwala’s on MI Road at Panch Batti Chowk: There is nothing like a cool and creamy lassi offered in a kulhad at Panch Batti Chowk Jaipur. The lassi here is simply awesome. This shop is in operation since 1944.

Rawat Misthan Bhandar, Station Road, Jaipur Railway Station:  When it comes to Kachori in Jaipur, it is hard to beat Rawat Kachori on Station Road, Jaipur Railway Station. This is the destination for the Kachori lovers and it is not just Kachori that you’ll get here. Rawat Kachori is also renowned for ghevar topped with flaked almonds.

Jaipur Inn, B17 Shiv Marg, Bani Park: It is a guesthouse, you can stay at when visiting Jaipur. It has a rooftop restaurant that offers lovely views of Jaipur. But more than the views, it is the food that brings discerning traveller here. The veg buffet dinner is awesome. If you are not staying in the guesthouse, you need to book a table in advance.

Jai Shankar Pavitra Bhojnalaya, 12 Sindhi Camp Bus Stand, Station Road: Looking for a neat and clean eatery in and around Jaipur Bus Station, Jai Shankar Pavitra Bhojnalaya is the place you can visit. This pure vegetarian restaurant in Jaipur is located close to the main bus station.

Samrat Sweets, Chaura Raasta: This is yet another shop well known for its khasta urad dal, onion kachories and samosas.

There are other great places to eat in Jaipur like famous Choki Dhani, Niro’s on MI Road, LMB in the Old City, Royal Treat, a multi-cuisine restaurant at Ramgarh Modh  and Kanji on Station Road for alu tikki, dahi bara…local food.
