A Photo Guide to Chopta – Tungnath Trek

Tungnath is one of the Panch Kedars in the Garhwal Himalayas. The trek to Tungnath is one of the most scenic and easy treks in the Garhwal region. The 6 km long Chopta-Tungnath trek starts from Chopta, which is approximately 40 km from Ukhimath and 63 km from Rudrapryag.

One can also trek to Chandrashila peak, which is one kilometer from Tungnath Temple. The Chandrashila trek is steep and it takes close to one hour to cover the 1km distance. It is best to climb Chandrashila Peak early in the morning to enjoy  the stunning sun rise.
