Top talked about places to visit in Monsoon
|Believe it or not the weather in India makes us travel. In summer we travel to cooler destinations and in winter we crave for snow. Come monsoon and we seek places to soak in the magic of rain.
Monsoon is when rains come tumbling down, wiping out the dust and grime of hot and humid months, leaving everything clean and green. The monsoon in India, after months of dry spell, offers a welcome respite to the parched earth and its inhabitants.
Here are a few places that almost everybody talks about visiting during monsoon in India.
Kerala: Almost everyone has Kerala as one of the best places to visit in monsoon. And it’s not only for its pristine beauty that people head southwards to God’s Own Country, monsoon is believed to be the great time for Ayurveda. The dust free atmosphere is considered perfect time for an Ayurvedic treatment. Kovlam, Kumarakom, Munnar, Kochi and Kumily are some of the places that one can explore in Kerala.
Mandu: Mandu in Madhya Pradesh has been attracting the rain-seeking-history- loving traveller for quite some time now and that number is increasing with every monsoon. The tales of love, betrayal and defiance still echoes in the beautiful monuments of Mandu. The massive Jami Masjid, Hindola Mahal, Jahaz Mahal and Roopmati’s pavilion are a treat for the eye.
Goa: Of late, Goa is being seen as a destination for every season and reason. And monsoon has become a special season for many to visit this beach beauty in the South-west of India. There won’t be many shacks on the beaches and you may miss the water sports but monsoon has its own charm in Goa. It is great for those who need time and space to relax and rejuvenate.
Jog Falls: It is in the rains that the beauty of Jog Falls comes to life. And it is not only the common travellers like you and I who make a beeline to Jog Falls, the cascading beauty is also a favourite among film makers. Many Kannada films have been shot here.
